Nestled in the heart of the bustling Les Quennevais community in St Brelade, the Communicare Centre first opened its doors in December1976. This welcoming space was born from a visionary collaboration between the Anglican and Methodist churches, who in 1972, recognised the growing needs of this blossoming neighbourhood as new homes and shops began to appear.
Today, Communicare is a vibrant hub that embraces a spirit of togetherness, working hand-in-hand with the Parish of St Brelade, various States of Jersey Departments, and a diverse array of community groups.
It's a welcoming space where people of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs can come together and find a sense of belonging. From lively activities for youngsters to gentle programs for seniors, there's something for everyone within these walls.
The Centre is proud to be the home of the St Brelade Youth Project, the Les Quennevais Branch Public Library, and a vital centre for the west of the island's Brighter Futures Hub, a local charity that wraps its arms around parents, families, and young people in Jersey offering them vital support in all areas of life.
At its core, the Centre is overseen by a dedicated Council of Management, comprising representatives from the Anglican and Methodist churches in St Brelade, along with the Constable of the Parish.
The leadership of this Council is shared in a spirit of harmony, alternating between the Methodist Minister appointed to St Aubin Methodist Church and the Rector of St Brelade.
Communicare is delighted to welcome HSBC.
In order to facilitate the major refurbishment, of the Red Houses branch, it will temporarily close as from 14th March 2025 for a period of approximately seven months.
To minimise disruption during this period, HSBC will set up a fully-accessible pop-up service at Communicare as from 17th March, which will be open weekdays between 10am and 4pm and provide customers with a range of general banking services.
There is ample parking available at Communicare.
The Centre is also used for
The chapel is open and is normally available for personal prayer whenever the centre is open.
The Coffee Bar is also open daily so why not come along and enjoy a coffee or a tea at any time that the Centre is open.

Parking is available outside, and the Centre is fully accessible for our disabled worshippers/visitors/users.

Communicare Centre was established and funded by the Anglican and Methodist churches and with the help of several very generous benefactors. A Trust was founded to help with the costs of running the Centre. Monies placed in the Trust some 50 years ago have been used wisely over the years. Nowadays money received from the Trust is supplemented by an annual grant from the Parish of St Brelade, occasional donations, bequests, and rental income from the User Groups who use the Centre.
Communicare Centre is a Registered Charity No.214.
Jersey Charity Commission
